Don't Frack With Our Water

On Tuesday 1st May 2012 thousands of people from across NSW united in Sydney's Martin Place to rally to protect land and water. The rally was a response to the state government's draft strategic regional land use policy. Across the state communities are concerned about the expansion of mining activities and feel the NSW Coalition government's land use proposals fail to deliver on the pre-election promise to restore balance and protect land and water resources. The rally was supported by NSW Farmers, Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders, Hunter Valley Wine Industry Association, the Country Women's Association of NSW, the Nature Conservation Council, GetUp!, Lock the Gate, Caroona Coal Action Group.
