This video created by Art Resistance is a wonderful overview of the rally held in Sydney’s inner-west on Sunday 18 September.
Concerned residents rallied in their thousands to send a message to Barry O’Farrell that they want him not to renew Dart Energy’s licence to conduct exploration in Sydney, including the site at St Peters.
The event started with a range of speakers from local council, residents, and community action group spokespeople at Camperdown Memorial Park. The rally then marched through Newtown up King St to Sydney Park, alongside Dart’s proposed coal seam gas exploration site. What followed was an afternoon of food, music, and community – unified around a bid to stop Sydney becoming a coal seam gas field.
